A National Symposium on Smoking and Disadvantage has focused on addressing tobacco related disparities in health and well-being across Australia.

The inaugural National Preventive Health Awards will encourage leadership in the area of preventive health, and recognise sectors of the Australian community that work to promote health and well-being.
Nominations for this year's awards have now closed. Finalists will be announced on 20 May 2013 with the Awards ceremony taking place in Canberra in late July.
The Awards will acknowledge excellence and best practice in relation to preventive health issues in four key areas:
